KHARTOUM — The Chamber’s co-founder and director of research and communication, Jonathan Black, recently returned from Sudan, where he handled PR, media, and communications for an election observer mission from the Cordoba Initiative (CI), a US-based international civil society organization promoting understanding between the Islamic world and the West. The elections were Sudan’s first multiparty vote in 24 years.
From CI’s mission headquarters in Khartoum, Black liaised with international and local media, assisted the organization in creating press statements and editorials for the mission, and organized an international press conference for CI at Khartoum’s Coral Hotel following the conclusion of voting. Black is continuing to work with CI on drafting post-election material related to the mission.
